The Geftakys Assembly in Altona / Galesburg IL
The former Geftakys Assembly in Altona, Illinois, met at Howard and Jeannie Magnuson's farm. Brinda M. mentions a bit of background about it in her history of the Assemblies in the Midwest. Neighbors Roger and Dolores Brown were in fellowship in Altona for many years, but it has been reported that sometime after 2003 they began attending another church. Jeanne Magnuson went to be with the Lord in October 2020 after another bout with thyroid cancer. Jeanne was much-beloved by everyone who knew her and her cheerful spirit through her long trial.
In 1980 Howard and Jeanne stayed with the Irons in Fullerton for several months to help Margaret and Beth A. get started on the Gerson therapy. Jeanne and Margaret became dear friends until it ended suddenly when the Irons left the Assembly in 1990.
