Who I Am in Christ

Originally compiled by Neil Anderson

Child of God, this is how the Lord looks at you, and thinks of you, and loves you!  Notice the absence of conditional "if" clauses.

I AM ACCEPTED....................

I am God's child.  John 1:12, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children, even to those who believe in His name."

I am Christ's friend. John 15:15, "No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you."

I have been justified. Rom. 5:1, "Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

I am united with the Lord, and I am one spirit with Him. 1Cor.6:17, "But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him."

I have been bought with a price. I belong to God. 1Cor.6:19-20, ""Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?  For you have been bought with a price."

I am a member of Christ's body. 1 Cor.12:27, "Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it."

I am a saint. Eph. 1:1, "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus."

I have been adopted as God's child. Eph. 1:5, "He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will."

I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit. Eph.2:18, "Through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father."

I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins. Col.1:14, "In Whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

I am complete in Christ. Col. 2:10, ""In Him you have been made complete..."

I AM SECURE.........................

I am free forever from condemnation. Rom.8:1-2, "Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the  law of sin and of death."

I am assured that all things work together for good. Rom.8:28, "We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

I am free from any condemning charges against me. Rom.8:31-34, "If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?  Who will bring a charge against God's elect.  God is the one who justifies."

I cannot be separated from the love of God. Rom. 8:35-39, "Who will separate us from the love of Christ?  Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  Just as it is written, "For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered."  But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

I have been established, anointed and sealed by God. 2 Cor. 1:21-22, "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, Who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge."

I am hidden with Christ in God. Col. 3:3, "For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

I am confident that the good work God has begun in me will be perfected. Phil 1:6, "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."

I am a citizen of heaven. Phil. 3:20, "Our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."

I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. 2 Tim.1:7, "God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and sound judgment."

I can find grace and mercy in time of need. Heb. 4:16, "Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

I am born of God , and the evil one cannot touch me. 1John 5:18, "We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him."

I AM SIGNIFICANT.....................

I am the salt and light of the earth. Matt. 5:13-14, "You are the salt of the earth....You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden."

I am a branch of the true vine, a channel of His life. John 15:1,5, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener...I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit. John 15:16, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last."

I am a personal witness of Christ's. Acts 1:8, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses."

I am God's temple. 1 Cor.3:16, "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?"

I am a minister of reconciliation for God. 2 Cor.5:17-21, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!  And this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them.  And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation."

I am God's co-worker ( 1Cor.3:9) 2Cor.6:1, "As God's fellow Workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain."

I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realm. Eph. 2:6, "God has raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus."

I am God's workmanship. Eph. 2:10, "We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

I may approach God with freedom and confidence. Eph. 3:12, "In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence."

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13, "I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

*** The more you reaffirm who you are in Christ, the more your feelings and behavior will begin to reflect your true identity!!
