Special 3 hour Pathologies of Religion and Cults Workshop Saturday, April 28 in San Francisco by the Co-founder of Factnet

The Pathologies of Traditional Religions, Spiritual Movements and Cults workshop is offered by Lawrence Wollersheim, a Director of Factnet and a leading expert on the pathologies of spiritual movements, religions and destructive cults.

If you or someone you know has been involved in a destructive or pathological spiritual movement, religion or cult, or if you just want to understand more about how to recognize and avoid the coercive and seldom-discussed malevolent side of spiritual movements, religions or cults, you will want to attend this very special, limited-seating event.

This event will cover:

a.) Definitions and guidelines for knowing healthy from destructive spiritual movements, religions and cults;

b.) How to emotionally, spiritually and financially recover from experiences with a pathological or destructive spiritual movement, religion or cult;

c.) How to still continue and progress upon your spiritual path in spite of challenging and/or harmful experiences;

d.) The essential positive aspects of spiritual movements, religions or cults that should be preserved to forward your spiritual life while you are avoiding what is pathological or destructive; and

e.) Time for integration of material with your personal questions about these issues.

lawrence Lawrence Wollersheim is the co-founder and a director of FACTNet, Inc., the oldest and largest Internet organization helping victims of destructive spiritual movements, religions and cults. Lawrence was personally mentored for 20 years by the late Dr. Margaret Singer (Professor emeritus at the University of California Berkeley who, before her death in 2005, was widely acknowledged as the world's leading authority on destructive cults, mind control and coercive influence tactics).

Lawrence has been interviewed on national television and his work has appeared on Frontline, 20/20, 60 Minutes, as well as in many other media articles and broadcasts. Lawrence is also widely known in legal circles for his social advocacy on behalf of victims of destructive religious cults. His internationally known Wollersheim v. Scientology court case set new legal precedents to help protect an individual's personal freedom of thought against the use of mind control in a setting claimed to be religious. This precedent forced Scientology, for the first time in its history, to pay $9.2 million in civil and SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation) judgments.

Besides his work at FACTNet, Lawrence is also a co-director at Integrative Spirituality, one of the first spiritual organizations that proactively educates its new members about the potentially destructive and pathological tactics of spiritual movements, religions and cults so that their personal spiritual progress is not impeded by them. Integrative Spirituality is also one of the first spiritual organizations that simultaneously uses and recognizes all that is most life-affirming and healthy from among all religions and spiritual traditions.
