You walked onto the stage then,
Like you were the only man of God,
Your pockets all stretched out, with all the coins, yeah,
And you told us that we left them out.
You had one eye on the money
As you watched us all chew gum.
And all the men dreamed they'd be just like you,

Ate candy and drank water while you preached on,

You had us duped for several years,
While we were still quite naive,
Well, you said that we made such a great, great group
And were better than anyone.
But you mocked the truth, and fleeced us all,
And one of them was me.
I had some dreams that you followed the scriptures
Living as God wanted, and

I bet you thought we did all you told us,

Well, I hear you went up to San Francisco,
And there you preach all of the time,
Then you put your house on the market for sale,
Hoping to start a "New Life",
But the past is always close behind,
And all of them have names,
It is the flock of God's children; He loves us,
He watches over, and
