Prayer to Change My Way of Thinking
The "Prayer to Change My Way of Thinking" that was distributed in the Assembly articulates a Catholic belief, that what I do earns my calling and election, not faith in Christ. The phrase "make sure" is from the King James version of I Peter 2:10, which is saying that my obedience firms up my continuing trust in Christ.
It is interesting as an example of the pre-printed liturgical prayers that were pressed upon us, in spite of the overt teaching that liturgy was not spiritual, only spontaneous prayer. The Selfer's Prayer, the Heavenly Ladder: A Morning Prayer, and this bookmark are other examples.
